Well, here she is, a fair bit nicer than before. The paint and bodywork were done by my friend
Shawn Gardner of Underground Painting. It's painted in Light Surf Metallic and AluSilver, both VW colors.
The seat was recovered in a dark green, and a set of 60's double legshield trim (courtesy of GS nut Mark Posselt) was added.
The front fender was so badly damaged that Shawn had to patch it with a large section from a 150 Super piece and the fender crest
holes have been welded closed (and the welds are invisible from either side).
I also enlisted the aid of my fellow Hard Luck club member Tim Olson to weld up the central tunnel seams, and those around the motor mount to substantially
reduce chassis flex. The rear spring has been upgraded to a Taffspeed item. And the exhaust is a modified
Sito Plus made for a P200. All in all, it's a bit quicker and much more stable now than when it rolled off the
assembly line at Pontedera in late 1965.
